The importance of capturing the story as a reporter/host /producer has been the focus of Debbie K’s career for over 15 years. As a Chicago and Midwest field producer, she is producing for many of the national television programs, both for the networks and cable.
Starting out as a reporter/host /producer in the cable industry, Debbie has worked her way up the ladder utilizing her interview skills, tenacity and creative instincts. As a broadcast journalism graduate of Columbia College in Chicago, she was hired by Multimedia Cablevision as a reporter, anchor and producer for their daily magazine program “Outlook.”
Debbie then went on to work as a VJ (host) and field producer for “Solid Rock Video”, a national weekly music video show on the ACTS/Family Network for three years. As the shows VJ, she interviewed top recording artists and produced many of the shows feature programs and road trips. Also, Debbie won the title of “Miss Chicago” in the Miss America Scholarship Pageant as well as “Miss Illinois” 1st runner-up.
As a field producer for Extra, E! Entertainment TV, Lifetime, VH1, and others, Debbie has covered a wide variety of stories, events and movies. Over the years she has interviewed such celebrities like: Tom Hanks, Brittany Spears, Kevin Costner, John Goodman, Rosie O’Donnell, Keanu Reeves, Celine Dion, Dan Akroyd, Tommy Lee Jones, Tiger Woods, John Kennedy Jr., Mariah Carey, Ellen, George Clooney, Conan O'Brian, Matt Damon, Miley Cyrus, Oprah plus many others. Some other major stories include the Oklahoma City Bombing, Murders of Andrew Cunnan, the Unabomer, Jennifer Hudson family murders, Death of Lady Diana, Barack Obama, etc.
Debbie also hosted a weekly radio entertainment show on Chicago’s WONU 89.7 fm.
